Yosepha Tabib-Calif, PhD is the Vice President for Strategy and Academic Programs and the Director of GISHA in Academia, a national initiative aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion in Israel’s academic institutions. Until 2024, she served as a faculty member at the David Yellin Academic College of Education and as a Teaching Fellow at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Yosepha has published two books: Ethnicity on the Move: Boundary Work and Life Trajectories of Young Adults and Peace Entrepreneurs and Social Entrepreneurship: Life Stories from Israelis and Palestinians. She is currently working on a third book, co-authored with the Vice Presidents for Diversity in Israeli universities, which explores the paradoxes of diversity in Israel’s public higher education system.
Yosepha’s academic and professional path has been dynamic, combining academic expertise with deep engagement in civil society and philanthropic sectors. She developed her skills in organizational consulting and program strategy through work with NGOs, fellowship programs, and foundations. She served for six years as an organizational consultant and academic staff member in the Hoffman Leadership and Responsibility Program for Outstanding Doctoral Students, and as academic advisor and program director for the Azrieli Fellows Program at the Azrieli Foundation.
She served as a board member and chair of Sister – for Women in Israel from 2010 to 2013, a board member of the Dafna Fund – Women Collaborating for Change from 2013 to 2018 and from 2020 she is a board member of IWN – Israel Women’s Network.
