Study Tours and Delegations

NIF Study Tours and our 2026 delegations are designed for current and prospective donors to engage deeply with NIF’s work. We are committed to introducing our supporters and friends to the extraordinary activists leading the struggle for peace and justice for all.

We take the safety of our participants and staff very seriously. Trips to the Occupied West Bank are led by highly experienced tour operators, and we assess conditions on the ground each day before departing. If participating in protests within Israel, we take careful measures to ensure participant safety. We stay only in accommodations with approved, standard shelters.

Tour fees include first-rate hotel accommodations, breakfast daily, an average of one additional meal daily, luxury motor coach ground transportation, professional English-speaking tour guides, program costs, reading materials, entrance fees, porterage, and basic gratuities. The price does not include your international flight.

No. The fee reflects the actual costs to NIF to operate the Study Tour. However, participants will be asked to make a contribution to NIF upon their return and we hope the program will inspire you to increase your level of support.

45 or more days: Travelers canceling 45 or more days prior to tour start date will receive a refund of trip cost minus the deposit (which is nonrefundable)

Less than 45 days:
Cancellations made less than 45 days prior to the tour start date will result in the participant’s loss of 100% of full trip cost, because at that point NIF will not be able to recover those amounts from vendors.

NIF reserves the right to cancel a trip in the following instances: 1) if an insufficient number of travelers have signed up; 2) Health restrictions in Israel or the United States prevent the tour from taking place; 3) if NIF deems there are safety/health concerns that require trip cancellation. If NIF cancels a tour, the trip cost will be refunded.

Regardless, we encourage travelers to purchase comprehensive trip insurance, while understanding that such insurance may not cover some of all of COVID-19 related issues; travelers are encouraged to review policies carefully.

The cost of each hotel room is based on double occupancy. When you travel alone, you bear the full cost of accommodations on your own, as prescribed by the hotel.

Upon request, we will do our best to match you with a roommate. However, these arrangements depend on other participants’ willingness to share a room. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that a match will be found.

Many restaurants and hotels in Israel are kosher certified, but not all. At times we stay in hotels and eat in restaurants that are not kosher. Vegetarian options are offered at all meals.

While most of our time is devoted to visiting NIF’s grantees and meeting and hearing from speakers, we do visit some tourist attractions and shopping stops along the way. In addition, we always have an outstanding tour guide who accompanies us on all our travels, and uses our walking and bus travel time to introduce the group to Israel’s rich history. On Shabbat (Saturday) we offer optional touring of the Old City and other sites in Jerusalem.

Our preference, in order for you to get the most out of our trip and limit disruptions to the group, is to limit your break-away time to either the free evenings we have in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, or to plan personal visits for Shabbat (Saturday.)

Study Tours are not strenuous, but do require mobility. While trips do not include hiking or prolonged periods of exertion, we do spend time walking around communities, and some of our meetings are held in buildings with stairs but no elevators. By the very nature of Israel’s hilly terrain and older cities, it can sometimes be difficult to get around for those who have accessibility challenges. At this time, we are not able to accommodate travelers in wheelchairs on our Study Tours.

If you have any questions about your ability to travel based on health concerns, please consult with your doctor. You should make sure your domestic health insurances covers you while traveling abroad, or purchase an international medical policy. If you need medical assistance while on the Study Tour, NIF will do its best to direct you to a hospital or doctor, but NIF cannot take responsibility for health care provision while you are traveling

Participants generally range in age from 40s through 80s.

Our standard Study Tours are not geared toward families traveling with young children.
