More and more young people are demanding that when they visit Israel/Palestine on organized trips, they must examine the complex social-political realities, including Israel’s military occupation.

Helping young people confront systems of oppression isn’t new for NIF. It’s baked into our DNA.

We understand that rising generations are eager to engage with an Israel/Palestine that isn’t whitewashed or sanitized. That’s because they’re asking the same critical questions about fairness, equal rights, and social justice in Israel and the occupied territories that they ask at home. They/we are eager to build relationships with their Israeli and Palestinian counterparts on the basis of shared values. Together, we want to build bridges for people around the world who want to work alongside on-the-ground Israeli and Palestinians civil society leaders advancing human rights, equality, and justice.

November 5-12, 2025

The program is for young adults (ages 21–35) who are able to demonstrate leadership experience, a commitment to NIF’s vision and values, and skills or professional expertise that they are interested in developing and applying to advance a just, equal, democratic, and pluralistic Israel/Palestine. Applicants from oppressed backgrounds and who hold marginalized identities, including LGBTQ+, Jews of Color, Sephardim, Mizrahim, Palestinians, as well as those with low wealth, are highly encouraged to apply.

No previous participation in NIF events or within the NewGen community is required.

Participants will include other small cohorts from NIF’s affiliate regions in Canada, U.K., and Australia.

As mentioned, following the trip and throughout the year participants will be expected to take action in their local communities with NIF. Participants will commit to taking part in ongoing learning opportunities throughout the year and developing projects together that build support for the issues they care about. These can include hosting NIF grantees and partners, organizing community events, giving circles, and Shabbat dinners. We are looking forward to seeing our participants become NIF ambassadors in the broader community, speaking out on issues related to NIF’s work.

• First-hand experience and in-depth knowledge of NIF’s issue areas, grantees, and projects throughout Israel/Palestine
• An opportunity to play a role in advancing positive social change in Israel/Palestine
• Opportunities to meet and build relationships with Israeli and Palestinian activists and leaders from the human rights and social change community
• Networking opportunities to forge connections and partnerships with Israeli, Palestinian, and international peers and leaders, and to join an international community of like-minded activists
• Platforms for leadership and speaking opportunities within the American Jewish community and NIF’s networks

The program is open to outstanding people, ages 21-35, who can demonstrate the following:

• Active engagement with Israel/Palestine, preferably including having traveled to Israel or the occupied West Bank previously and possessing a solid understanding of the issues affecting Israeli society
• Skills and experience in leadership and activism, and a keen interest in applying these within the American Jewish community
• Professional and/or voluntary experience relevant to the planning and execution of effective activities in areas such as event planning, communications, and community organizing
• A strong affinity for NIF’s values and mission, and a desire and ability to act as ambassadors for NIF
